fun stuff
how I gamified fitness
i created a fun engaging application to motivate users to be more active. the first way in which this has been accomplished is through the mascot named "waddle". the penguin mascot exists not only as the face of the application but also has a personality. when reaching goals or failing to do so, waddle's will make sure to let you know! the ranking system i found to be yet another engaging way of motivating users to not only reach their goals but to exceed them in hopes of reaching the top. doing so unlocks badges, exclusives, and even cosmetics for waddles!

why
why create the app
waddletracker was an idea that came to during my weight loss journey. i had lost over 40lbs through utilizing my desk treadmill and reducing my caloric intake. each day i had a step goal and always made sure to reach it. i used a step tracking app in hopes of a way to motivate me additionally. unfortunately all of the apps i found to be rather lifeless. they track your steps, weight, heart rate, then ends there. none of the apps had any way of truly motivating users to reach their step goal. with how popular steps have become in a world that is now nearly completely ran on computers i knew that i had an idea worth growing. i've had plenty of success through my own cardio journey and hope to help many others reach their goals in order to live a happier and healthier life.
